Muslim Students Invite Bowdoin to Celebrate Eid al-Adha

Muslims around the world last week began celebrating an important Islamic holiday, Eid al-Adha, which honors the Koranic story of Prophet Abraham’s willingness to sacrifice, for God, his son Ishmael.

In honor of the event, the Muslim Student Association threw a henna party on Saturday evening, Sept. 2, inviting the community to come by 30 College Street for food, henna painting, and traditional music.

“The MSA would love to invite the campus community to join in our festivities at this year’s Eid Henna Party in order to spread awareness for the holiday and religion and foster a community of tolerance and an appreciation for diversity,” the group said.
