The 90 degree heat didn’t stop Polar Bears from gathering to welcome First-Year students and their families to the Bowdoin community. Over 100 alumni, parents, students and guests gathered at the home of Ella Frederiksen Brown ’84 and Lowell Brown where the class of 2020 was fittingly represented by 20 classmates from all around the state. Mike LePage ’78, P’07, P’13 delivered welcoming remarks and invited each First-Year in attendance to introduce themselves to the assembled crowd. This year marks the 17th summer the Brown Family has opened their home for this popular gathering and last spring Bowdoin’s Alumni Council voted to recognize Ella for these years of service to Bowdoin. Ella was presented with a 2016 Polar Bear Award in front of her family, classmates and many, many Bowdoin friends. Thank you Ella and Lowell and Welcome Class of 2020!
