The men’s and women’s hockey teams both won NESCAC ice hockey championship titles Sunday. The women’s team won its third NESCAC Championship and first since 2004 with a 2-1 victory over host Middlebury. The men’s team netted a pair of first-period goals and held off a late charge by Williams to win, 2-1, in a packed Sidney J. Watson Arena. Read coverage in the Portland Press Herald.
The men’s team will now host UMass Dartmouth in an NCAA First Round game Wednesday evening, March 6, at Watson Arena. Face-off is scheduled for 7 p.m. The Bowdoin Daily Sun will have details regarding women’s NCAA action as they become available.
