Bowdoin Community Deletes its E-Waste Archives

Waterville, Maine-based eWaste Alternatives had a truck on campus Friday to collect e-waste cast-offs from Bowdoin’s staff, students and faculty. The nonprofit organization employs adults with disabilities to recycle as many as the old electronics as they can for disadvantaged communities.

“The event was so well utilized that we far surpassed the expected collection, filling up the truck in record time,” said Keisha Payson, coordinator for a Sustainable Bowdoin. Bowdoin will offer a second e-waste take-back day in early October.
