Bowdoin College has given the 2012 Abraxas Award to Andover High School in Andover, Mass. The Abraxas Award is given each year to the secondary school sending two or more graduates to Bowdoin whose representatives maintain the highest standing during their first year at the College.
The two students in the Class of 2015 are Michael Robert McQuillan and William David Ossoff. Together, they earned a combined GPA of 3.9 during the 2011-2012 academic year, the highest for a secondary school sending two or more students to Bowdoin.
The Abraxas Award was established in 1915 by the Abraxas Society, a former Bowdoin junior class scholarly society that was active from 1893 to about 1924.
