Jill Shaw Ruddock ’77 Receives Jewish Care Women of Distinction Award (Jewish Chronicle) Archives

Author and Second Half Centre founder Jill Shaw Ruddock, a member of the Bowdoin College Class of 1977, and comedienne Ruby Wax, who has worked to raise awareness of mental health issues, were honored with the Jewish Care Woman of Distinction award at the Philips de Pury and Company auction house in London in front of more than 160 women.

The lunch raised more than $100,000 to benefit Jewish Care mental health facilities Sydney Corob House and Jack Gardner House in North London. Past recipients of the award include fashion designer Diane Von Furstenberg (2011) and philanthropist Dame Vivienne Duffield (2010).

Shaw Ruddock is to receive Bowdoin’s Common Good Award at Reunion Convocation, June 2, 2012.
