Departmental Awards Presented at 2012 Honors Day Archives

Bowdoin College held its 16th annual Honors Day ceremony to recognize publicly the academic achievements of Bowdoin students and faculty. The ceremony was held May 9, 2012, at Kanbar Auditorium, Studzinski Recital Hall.

Assistant Professor of History David Hecht, recipient of the 2011 Sydney B. Karofsky Prize for Junior Faculty, delivered the Honors Day address, “Telling Stories About Science,” in which he immediately amused the audience by saying he intended to relate his field of research – the atom bomb and thermonuclear war – to, of all things, the Common Good.
