Ed Lee ’74 Elected Mayor of San Francisco (Reuters) Archives

Ed Lee ’74, who has been interim mayor of San Francisco since January, won the City by the Bay’s mayoral race Tuesday, becoming the first elected mayor of Chinese descent in a city where Chinese-Americans account for a quarter of the population.

    Another positive result of Bowdoin College. I did read though, that Ed’s success was the result of support by the Unions. I support Unions as well as the companies that hire their workers, but I don’t see the difference between Union support and Corporation support for a candidate. MSNBC needs to be consistent on the issue of major influence on our politicians.
