Video: Waiting for Wegman (WCSH) Archives

Weimaraner in a chef’s hat. Weimaraner as a bride (and a groom). Lounging on a settee wearing a wig and in work boots (though not at the same time – that would be ridiculous). No matter the pose or the costume, renowned artist William Wegman never fails to amuse as he captures those soulful eyes and so much more in his photographs. The Bowdoin College Museum of Art is planning to display Wegman’s art – including rarely seen work from his personal collection – in an exhibition to open in July 2012.

In the meantime, get to know this part-time Mainer (he has a home in Rangeley) with this interview he taped while in Portland to speak in conjunction with the Portland Museum of Art exhibition Madeleine de Sinety: Photographs.
