Cross Country: Paced by a second-place finish from Coby Horowitz, the Bowdoin College men’s cross country team earned their highest finish in the NESCAC Championship since 2006, tying for second place on Saturday at Amherst College. The women’s cross country team earned a sixth-place finish at the event.
Field Hockey: The top-seeded Bowdoin field hockey team scored a pair of first-half goals to dismiss Hamilton, 2-0 in NESCAC Quarterfinal action Saturday afternoon at Ryan Field. The Polar Bears advance to the NESCAC semifinals for the seventh consecutive season with a record of 15-0.
Football: Bowdoin senior co-captain Pat Noone returned a punt 85 yards for a third-quarter touchdown that proved to be the difference in a 12-6 victory over Wesleyan on Saturday at Whittier Field.

Women’s Volleyball: The Bowdoin College volleyball team concluded a perfect NESCAC regular season with a 3-1 (25-14, 25-16, 24-26, 25-15) win over Trinity in its regular season finale on Saturday at Bates. The victory gives the 2011 Polar Bears the school record for single-season wins (23-2) and is the first time a NESCAC team has gone 10-0 in conference play since 2008.
Women’s Rugby: The University of Rhode Island women’s rugby team dealt Bowdoin its first loss of the season, 22-12, on Saturday in the Second Round of the New England Rugby Football Union Tournament.
Women’s Soccer: In a scene all too familiar to the Bowdoin women’s soccer team, Kathryn Nathan scored the overtime game-winner to give the top-seeded Amherst College a 3-2 win over the Polar Bears in the NESCAC Quarterfinals on Saturday.
