Bowdoin a cappella group the Longfellows had an eventful summer as members and their voices were put through the paces of auditioning for the NBC show, The Sing Off. Out of 500 groups, the Longfellows made it all the way to the top 30, but didn’t survive the cut to the final 15. “Although we were not one of them, we are incredibly grateful to have been considered among some of the best groups in the country,” says Longfellows Music Director Pete Murphy ’12. Here, the group practices for one of its auditions with a rendition of Adele’s “Rolling in the Deep”:
The Longfellows will be singing with Bowdoin’s other a cappella groups at a recruitment concert at 8 p.m. Thursday in the Chapel. Auditions will be held next week; sign-up sheets are in the Mckeen Center, just outside the Chapel side entrance.
