A Stamp of Approval for Edward Hopper (Los Angeles Times) Archives

Hundreds of visitors each day have been giving their stamp of approval to the Bowdoin College Museum of Art exhibition Edward Hopper’s Maine, and now the U.S. Postal Service has put in its two cents (or 44 cents, as the case may be) about the artist with a special Edward Hopper postage stamp.

The new “forever” stamp, based on Hopper’s painting The Long Leg, will be officially unveiled August 24 at the Huntington Library, Art Collections and Botanical Gardens in San Marino, Calif., where the original painting resides. Read Los Angeles Times coverage and learn how to get the stamp with a special pictorial postmark.
