Video: The Antebellum Project – ‘School Ties, Slavery & the Unraveling of American Politics’ Archives

Upon the 150th anniversary of the beginning of the Civil War, historical website The Antebellum Project, follows the war’s narrative from the perspectives of four Bowdoin classmates: U.S. Sen. John P. Hale (1827), called ” the first abolotionist senator”; Franklin Pierce (1824), the 14th President of the United States; U.S. Senator William Pitt Fessenden (1823), one of the Republican Party’s founding fathers; and author Nathaniel Hawthorne (1825).

Created by Frank Chi ’07, The Antebellum Project was produced by William Donahoe ’08, Alex Cornell du Houx ’08 and Matt Patton, and is narrated by Gabe Kornbluh ’08.
