The Case for Financial Aid: Scholarship Luncheon Remarks by Lisa McElaney ’77 Archives

May 16, 2011 by SH

Lisa McElaney '77

More than 300 people filled Thorne Hall Thursday for the annual Scholarship Appreciation Luncheon-an opportunity for students to meet and thank the many donors who make financial aid possible at Bowdoin.

This year’s host, outgoing Trustee Lisa McElaney-a financial aid recipient herself-warned that “need-blind” financial aid at Bowdoin is by no means guaranteed, reminding those in attendance that the opportunity it provides requires the commitment of donors and students alike.
