Hunters’ Polar Bear Trophies in Limbo, Awaiting US Policy Changes (Keene Sentinel)

Once the ultimate trophy for sport hunters, the Polar Bear has been off-limits since its classification as a threatened species three years ago.

Now, the rare trophies – typically the skin, claws and skull – are in a legal limbo stretching from the Arctic to the Canadian and U.S. capitols, as the Endangered Species Act prohibits importing endangered or threatened animals, and their trophies, from Canada.
