Baseball – Bowdoin College pitcher Oliver Van Zant ’13 spun a gem, tossing six innings of shutout ball in a 3-0 victory at Colby on Saturday.
Softball – Leah Maciejewski collected three hits, including a two-run home run, to lead the Bates College softball team to a 7-4 win over Bowdoin at a rainy Pickard Field Saturday.
Men’s Lacrosse – Bowdoin’s Keegan Mehlhorn ’12 scored three goals and assisted on the game-winner to Nathan Fritts ’12 with 7:59 remaining as the Polar Bear men’s lacrosse team won its third straight outing in an 8-7 victory at Williams Saturday.
Women’s Lacrosse – Katie Stewart ’12 scored five goals as the Bowdoin College women’s lacrosse team cruised to a 12-5 win over Williams on Saturday at a rainy and cold Ryan Field.
Tennis – Bowdoin tennis stumbled on Saturday, the men falling at Williams 4-5, and the women love-9 at Amherst.
Men’s Outdoor Track & Field – The Bowdoin College men’s outdoor track and field team placed second at the 112th Maine State Championship Saturday hosted at Bates’ Russell Street Track.
Women’s Outdoor Track & Field – The Bowdoin College women’s outdoor track and field team ran away with the 2011 Aloha Relays Championship on a cold and rainy day at Magee-Samuelson track Saturday.
Rowing – The Bowdoin College crew team won four of its six events, and finished second in the other two, at the Clark Invitational in Worcester, Mass., Saturday. Bowdoin’s men’s varsity boats won all three of their events while the novice women also picked up a first-place finish. The M1V4 boat won defeated rival Amherst to give the Polar Bears a good shot at the #1 seed for the New England Rowing Championships next weekend.
Sailing – The Bowdoin sailors stand in 11th place overall after a rainy day at the New England Women’s Championship hosted at Bethel Point on Saturday. Complete results, including live coverage of Sunday results, can be found here.
