Photo Gallery: Last Gasp of Winter Blankets the Bowdoin Campus

It wasn’t a joke when Mother Nature decided to dump six to twelve inches of heavy wet snow across Maine on April Fool’s Day. With temperatures in Brunswick expected to climb near 50 degrees over the weekend, we asked photographer Michele Stapleton to document this last gasp of the wild winter of 2011 before all that snow finally goes.     These scenes are timeless. Not much different than my memories of the 2nd half of the Fifties! I rember my Loden coat and shetland swaeters that helped combat the weather. SPRING scenes in color next, please!
