Fourth Time Around for Record Store Day, Brainchild of Chris Brown ’91 Archives

Record Store Day, the third Saturday of April each year, conceived of by Bull Moose Vice President Chris Brown ’91, is now in its fourth year and celebrated across the country.

“This whole thing kind of led to Record Store Day because I noticed that there were lots of stores like Bull Moose in other areas like Phoenix, Colorado Springs and Sacramento that were going through the same thing we were,” says Brown in an article in The Street. “They were thriving yet there was a sense that we were all dying and going to go away soon, and we were bummed that there was so much negativity in both the press and the industry.”

Bull Moose was founded by Brett Wickard ’90; the company’s Brunswick location is celebrating Record Store Day with two in-store performances from local bands.
