Buck Center Hosts Women of Color Mind, Body and Spirit Retreat

A health and wellness retreat held Saturday, March 5, at The Peter S. Buck Center for Health and Fitness invited women of color to experience various modalities for supporting mind, body and spirit, including yoga, tai chi, zumba fitness and journaling exercises.

“This was also a great way to escape Bowdoin for a second and just do something different that was also great for our bodies and overall refreshing and cleansing,” says Awa Diaw ’11, president of the student group Africa Alliance and house manager of the Russwurm Center. “By reaching out to this group of women we are now more aware of these resources and hope to take advantage of them.”

Sound Mind, Sound Body! Watch the David Amen, MD, programs on PBS! Maybe the College could consider him for an Hon. Degree in the sprit of the “legacy of the Bowdoin Medical School”. Ask LEE TODD MIlLER, MD, Bowdoin Alum & Recipient of a Distinguised Alumni Award. Lee is Professot of Pediatrics at UCLA & Cedars-Sinai Hospital, LA. David started the Amen Clinic in Newport Beach, CA. His pioneering clinical and research into “THE BRaiN” has given a new definitin to all facets of brain fuction & dysfuction. He is a objective investigator into both prescribed and recreational drugs. He demontrates the disastrous results of toxic recreational drugs on the cortex, white brain matter, where the new brain is housed. This is the brain that has taken us out of our once primitive state and into the world of free wiil and intellect. You will not be disappointed with the education he provides. When you view the actual films of how the sacred cortex is destroyed, whole pieces absent resembling a Swiss cheese, you will be forced into “A REAL WAR AGAINST DRUGS”! This is mandatory learning for all students and adults as we preserve a Sound Mind and Sound Body. What a gift ofinformation for “the Common Good”. Thanks,PHDragonas’59, MD.917 783 0100
