Fifty-one years ago this month, American folk singer Pete Seeger performed in Pickard Theater. He had insisted the concert be recorded and the tapes handed over to him immediately without anyone making a copy or even listening to them. Fast-forward more than half a century – the performance is resurfacing as the 2-CD set, The Complete Bowdoin College Concert 1960.
Bowdoin magazine first reported this was in the works in its Fall 2009 issue. Read more about Seeger, the concert and how it all came together, in the sidebar “Better Late Than Never.”
