Archaeological Dig at Homer’s Prouts Neck Studio: A ‘Brush with Greatness’ (Portland Press Herald)

Winslow Homer's "The Fountains at Night" (1893, oil on canvas) is among a collection of the artist's work held by the Bowdoin College Museum of Art.

Archaeologists working at Winslow Homer’s studio at Prouts Neck in Scarborough, Maine, have unearthed  the handle of a paintbrush presumed to have been used by the great American painter, many of whose works are held by the Bowdoin College Museum of Art.
