Bion Cram ’37 on List of ‘Largest American Charitable Contributions’ (Slate)

The late Bion Cram, a member of the Class of 1937, has been included on the 2010 Slate 60, the magazine’s annual compilation of the largest charitable contributions in the U.S. Cram, listed 46th, bequeathed Bowdoin gifts that, when combined with his longtime partner John McCoy’s gifts, total more than $17.3 million. The brief bio highlights Cram’s gift to his other alma mater, Fryeburg Academy, to which he reportedly left about $11.5 million.
