Ellen Baxter ’75 Uses Tax Credits to Make Low-Income Housing Project Possible (New York Times)

Ellen Baxter ’75, H’05, 1994 recipient of Bowdoin’s Common Good Award, has been a tireless advocate for the homeless in New York City. As founder and executive director of the affordable housing non-profit Broadway Housing Communities, Baxter is most recently invested in the $73 million Sugar Hill project in Harlem, made possible by tax credits. Broadway Housing’s leadership team also includes Mary Ann Villari ’75.
