Bowdoin Sports Teams Gear Up for Big Weekend

A huge weekend is on tap for several Bowdoin sports teams this weekend, as postseason play begins in earnest.

The action begins Friday night, as the Polar Bear volleyball team looks to continue their record-setting campaign at the NESCAC Tournament in Amherst against Williams.

The Polar Bear men’s soccer team, ranked fifth in the nation, will host the NESCAC Tournament beginning Saturday morning against Wesleyan at Pickard Field, looking for their first-ever conference title.

The fifth-ranked field hockey team will also pursue a NESCAC Championship – their fifth in six seasons – when they play Amherst at Tufts Saturday afternoon.

Meanwhile the men’s and women’s cross-country teams will compete in the NCAA New England Regional at Williams College.

Saturday afternoon, the Bowdoin football team will begin pursuit of the CBB Championship when they host a Senior Day battle against rival Bates College.
