The Bowdoin Prize Awarded to L.L. Bean Chairman Leon A. Gorman ’56

Bowdoin College has presented its highest honor-The Bowdoin Prize-to L.L. Bean Chairman Leon Gorman of the Class of 1956 in recognition of his accomplishments in business, his service to the College and to higher education, and his lifelong commitment to serving the common good. Gorman was presented with The Bowdoin Prize by President Barry Mills and Board of Trustees Chair Stephen F. Gormley during a ceremony in Pickard Theater on Friday, October 1. Prior to the ceremony, Gorman was the guest of honor at a reception and dinner in Thorne Hall attended by Bowdoin trustees, L.L. Bean employees, and other invited guests and Gorman family members.
