Brunswick Snowboarder in Online Competition for SI’s ‘SportsKid of the Year’

Myles Silverman, 13, of Brunswick-son of Bowdoin alumni Margaret Butler ’86 and Lee Silverman ’86-is one of ten semi-finalists for the Sports Illustrated “SportsKid of the Year” award. Nominated for his prowess in snowboarding, baseball, soccer, and tennis, Myles is the only nominee from the Northeast. He needs enough votes from online readers to make it into the contest finals, with the final judging to be completed by Sports Illustrated Kids staff. Voting ends on Monday, October 18 at noon (EST). The competition, with criteria split between academic and athletic achievement and community service, is for students ages 7 to 15.
