Should Obsese People Be Taxed? (Big Think) Archives

According to a report by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, Americans in their 50s are about 20 pounds heavier on average than 50-year olds in the 1970s. And that’s just folks in their 50s. In fact, more than 70 million American adults are now considered obese, and the resulting health problems are expensive. Some think it’s time to levy a tax on those carrying around too many pounds, while others see that as one dangerous idea.
