Bowdoin’s Big ‘Green’ Boiler Arrives on Campus

The major piece of the College’s boiler replacement and cogeneration project has arrived – all 71,200 pounds of it. The new high-efficiency, low emissions, dual-fuel (natural gas and #2 oil) boiler pulled into campus atop a tractor-trailer after a 1,400-mile journey from West Point, Miss. The project is one of many important steps the College is taking toward its goal of becoming carbon neutral by 2020.
