Bowdoin Alumni who work for Year Up sites across the country gathered recently at the Mohonk Mountain House in New Paltz, N.Y., for Year Up’s National Retreat. Founded by Bowdoin alumnus and trustee Gerald C. Chertavian ’87, Year Up is a one-year, intensive training program that provides urban adults, ages 18-24, with a combination of hands on skill development, college credits, and corporate internships.
