A Trifecta of NESCAC Honors for Bowdoin Athletes

Three Bowdoin student-athletes have been recognized by the New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC) for their talents and accomplishments this past week.

Junior Russell Halliday (Sudbury, Mass.) has been named the NESCAC Men’s Lacrosse Player of the Week. Halliday led Bowdoin in scoring last week as the Polar Bears picked up a pair of key NESCAC victories.

First-year student Michele Kaufman is the NESCAC Women’s Field Performer of the Week. Kaufman had a trio of top-three finishes as the Polar Bears competed at the University of New Hampshire’s Wildcat Invitational Saturday.

Bowdoin College junior Brett Gorman (Bedford, N.Y.) is the NESCAC Baseball Player of the Week. Gorman was red-hot at the plate as the Polar Bears went 4-1 last week to tie the program’s best-ever record after 24 games (19-5). Bowdoin currently ranks first in the latest New England Division III poll.
