The Growing Problem of Cheating in School (Chicago Tribune)

In the 1940s, one in 20 college students admitted to having cheated at one time or another. Today, it’s one in five. Chicago Tribune blogger Jay Mathews notes that experts blame the intense competition for admission to college, and he asks his readers to suggest solutions.

    I’d rather get accurate grades than high grades. (Of course, I’d also rather perform well than not, in which case the two wouldn’t have to come into conflict.)
