Continentals and Jeffs are Next Archives

Men’s Ice Hockey: Twenty-seven years to the day since legendary Bowdoin Men’s Hockey Coach Sid Watson coached his last game, it was announced that his namesake arena will host the NESCAC men’s ice hockey finals.

The top-seeded Polar Bears face Hamilton in the first game of the semifinals on Saturday, March 6, at 1:00 p.m. Middlebury and Trinity will play in the second semifinal at 4:00 p.m. The NESCAC Championship Game will be played in Watson Arena at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, March 7.

Tickets go on sale Tuesday, March 2, at noon in the Athletic Department Office on the second floor of the Peter Buck Center for Heath and Fitness. Prices will be $5 for adults and $2 for students. There is no charge for students with a Bowdoin ID.

Women’s Ice Hockey: The fifth-seeded Polar Bears will travel to Amherst on Saturday for a semifinal contest against the Lord Jeffs, the top-seed in the tournament. Game time is 1:00 p.m. The second contest will feature number-three Middlebury vs. the number-two seed, Trinity, at 4:00 p.m.

Senior captain Shana Natelson spoke with Bowdoin Sports Information Director Jim Caton following Saturday’s shocker in Williamstown, where Bowdoin scored three goals in the third period to stun Williams, 4-2, in the NESCAC Quarterfinals.
